Foods that benefit the lungs

Do you know which foods are good for them? lungs and for what reason?

Antioxidants

Fight the damage caused to the body by oxidative stress by eating foods rich in antioxidants, such as:

– Citrus fruits (vitamin C)

– Apricots, carrots, peppers, spinach (β-carotene)

– Seeds, wheat germ, peanuts, almonds (vitamin E)

– Tomatoes (lycopene)

– Seeds, seafood (selenium).

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for health but are not sufficiently included in the diet. Omega-6 fatty acids are also essential but are consumed to a greater extent. The ideal ω-6/ω-3 ratio is 4:1 but in the modern diet it is closer to 20:1. Omega-3s help control the growth of cancer cells. They also have anti-inflammatory properties. Good sources are oily fish, soy and green leafy vegetables.

Magnesium

Element essential for health. It contributes to the functioning of enzymes and helps the muscles in the respiratory tract to relax, as well as to fight infections.
