Tips to avoid getting sick this winter!

With the sudden drop in temperature, you are more likely to experience runny nose, cough and fever. With the following tips you will manage to build a "shield" that will protect your body from viruses and colds.

1. The "good" bacteria: In your body there should be the so-called beneficial bacteria because their presence can help in various situations since they strengthen the immune system. Antibiotics when taken without medical advice can destroy the "good" bacteria resulting in the creation of other pathogenic organisms.

2. Germ-Fighting Foods: Vitamin C contained in citrus fruits, green pepper, kiwi and other foods can work effectively in preventing colds. Eating foods containing zinc can help fight the common cold. Foods rich in zinc are shellfish, legumes and meat.

3. Complete your… diet: If your doctor deems it necessary then he will advise you to take some nutritional supplements. However, if your diet is balanced then there is no reason to take them. Doctors usually recommend nutritional supplements to people who need them. Elderly, pregnant women, people tired due to work or people suffering from stress are some categories of people that are indicated by doctors to take supplements.

4. Excercise: A person who works out on a daily basis or 3-4 times a week is less likely to get sick. With exercise, the body's defenses are significantly strengthened and create a protective shield against viruses and colds. Jog, cycle or walk every day for half an hour and win the…half bet by strengthening your immune system.

5. Echinacea: Echinacea helps strengthen the immune system according to alternative healers. It has an antibacterial effect and is considered to prevent and suppress colds. You will find it in pharmacies in syrup.

Also:

1. Keep your hands clean to avoid germs. Wash your hands frequently or use antiseptic wipes if you are out of the house.

2. Limit or quit smoking because it reduces the body's resistance.

3. Avoid deprivation diets that are poor in vitamins and "steal" your energy.

4. Fats and sugar raise blood sugar and in excessive amounts weaken the immune system. So reduce their daily consumption.

5. The frequent use of antibiotics results in the creation of resistant strains of microbes in the body that are difficult to combat. Take antibiotics only when necessary and after your doctor has recommended it.
