SOS: Sedentary work? Why do you have to get up and walk?
Long hours at the office. Tiredness, stress and work pressure do not allow you to exercise your body or even find time for a short walk.
In our body there are more than 360 joints and 700 muscles, which together help our body stand upright against the force of gravity. Our blood is completely dependent on our movement in order to circulate properly. With the movement, the nerves also work properly, while at the same time the elasticity of the skin is ensured. You know that when you sit in one position for many hours at a time, your body emits an SOS as the risk of thrombosis increases rapidly, that is, in simple words, you are at risk of painful blood clots forming in your calves.
In fact, if you smoke or take contraceptive pills, you worsen the problem.
If you don't have time for a short walk, what you can do is stand up and slowly sit back down in your office chair, simultaneously tightening your abdomen and back while stretching your buttocks back.
Don't be shy to explain to your colleagues why you are doing this. There is no shame when it comes to health issues.
If you are in your office, start now.
