Everything you need to know about sunscreen

Sunscreen is one of the most essential products that everyone should have. But how do you choose the most suitable one? Which SPF is right for you?
One of the first things you should pay attention to in sunscreens, but also in all cosmetics, is the information on their packaging. It is mandatory to write information and advice on their correct use on the package, such as for example that even those with the highest index do not provide 100% protection.
A protection factor of 6 is the minimum that offers some protection. An SPF of 15 to 25 offers moderate protection, while an SPF of 30 to 50 offers high protection. It is best to avoid sunscreens with lower indices.
Other warnings that sunscreens must include are:
– Do not stay in the sun for a long time, even if you wear sunscreen.
– Your excessive exposure to it is a health threat. Keep babies and small children out of the sun.
– Using a reduced amount of sunscreen reduces protection.
– Its frequent application is very important. Once a day is not enough.

To choose the right sunscreen, it is necessary to take into account some important parameters, such as:
– Your photo.
– If you are starting sun exposure for the first time.
– If you are taking any medication
– If you are pregnant.
– If you have a history of sun allergy
– If you have a hereditary predisposition to melanoma.

Protection rules
– Apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before going out in the sun.
– If you swim for a long time or do sports on the beach, prefer waterproof sunscreens.
– Don't skimp on the sunscreen
– After swimming, toweling, playing or exercising, reapply.
– Increase the amount, the frequency of application and the protection index in children, because they have more sensitive skin.
– Avoid exposure to the sun during the midday hours

What is your photo?
Depending on hair and skin color, there are 4 different types.

Find yours and discover the right sun protection index.

1. You have very fair skin, usually with freckles, that is almost always sunburned and never tans. Your sunscreen should have an SPF of at least 50. However, after 2 weeks of sun exposure, you can lower it to 30 or 40 if you want.

2. You have pale, fair skin that burns easily and tans very hard. The ideal sun protection factor for you is 40.

3. You have medium fair skin and your natural hair color is auburn or light brown, while when you tan you get a bronze color. The ideal SPF for you is 30. After 2 weeks, you can reduce it to 20.

4. It is the most common phototype of the Mediterranean. You have wheatish skin, dark hair and eyes. The right SPF for you is 20 to 30 and you can, if you want, reduce it to 15 after a few days.

5. You have a fair complexion, which tans very easily and rarely burns. Start with SPF 15 and then reduce to SPF 10.
