Three ingredients with anti-cancer action

The anti-cancer effect of certain foods is naturally attributed to the unique and valuable ingredients they provide us. There are many ingredients that have been linked to reducing the risk of various types of cancer, but for the three you will see below the scientific evidence is very strong. What are these;

1. Carotenoids

Numerous studies indicate that certain carotenoids protect against lung cancer and possibly breast and prostate cancer.

We find them in the following foods: Tomato, green leafy vegetables, carrot, watermelon, papaya, grapefruit, bell pepper, guava, asparagus, red cabbage, pumpkin, peas, broccoli, Brussels sprouts.

2. Isothiocyanates

They reduce the risk of various types of cancer.

We find them in the following foods: Brussels sprouts, turnips, cabbage, kale, broccoli, cauliflower.

3. Anthocyanins

They have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action, a process that works protectively against cancer.

We find them in the following foods: Berries, red grape, red cabbage, cherry, onion, red leaf lettuce, radish, eggplant, black beans, plum.
