The first symptoms of breast cancer
THE Breast cancer it can occur in both women and men, but it is naturally more common in the female population.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the main signs a woman should look for are:
– a lump/lump or induration in one part of the breast – the sensation on palpation is different in this part compared to the rest of the breast tissue
– fluid discharge from the nipple – there may be traces of blood in the fluid
– change in the size, shape or appearance of the breast
– changes in the appearance of the skin of the breast, such as e.g. creases, orange peel look
– nipple retraction, i.e. when the nipple is pulled towards the inside of the breast
– peeling of the dark skin around the nipple (breast halo) or breast skin
– redness or pitting in the skin just above the breast
Consult your doctor if you have noticed a recent change in the appearance or texture of your breast, even if your last mammogram showed no change.
