The pros and cons of keratin hair treatment
Keratin hair straightening has become a very popular treatment recently.
There is a huge variety of keratin based chemical treatments that offer different results.
Keratin treatment includes: Keratin particles and other chemicals like formaldehyde that help hold the hair molecules together, straightening your hair and keeping it straight. Eliminates frizz, adds shine and rebuilds damaged hair.
This process is followed by a heat technique with a straightening iron that reaches up to 230 degrees. The treatment lasts about 90' (depending on the length of the hair) It is important to know that the straightening and softness will not last for a long time (about 2 – 2 1/2 months) unless you use special products with keratin after treatment for maintenance. However, you should look for products with as little formaldehyde as possible, and approved by the World Health Organization. There are also organic products without chemicals and formaldehyde.
Caution: you should know that there may be side effects after the treatment as a very small percentage of people are allergic not only to formaldehyde but also to keratin.
