Swollen feet; Not anymore! Here's how to tackle the problem!

Swollen feet, a problem that torments many. Throw the weight off you with the tips you'll read below.

Don't wonder why your feet are swollen. The reasons are many.
• Poor blood circulation in the area, due to prolonged immobility, lack of exercise and a sedentary or standing life.
• Disorder of the lymph (body fluids), which accumulates in the legs and sometimes causes painful swellings, which are especially evident in the ankles.
• Excessive consumption of salt which is responsible for fluid retention in the body.
• Taking certain medications, such as anti-inflammatories and certain antihypertensives
• In some cases, the swelling may be due to diseases of the circulatory system (varicose veins, varicose veins, phlebitis) or of the heart.

In fact, in the summer, the heat swells the vessels of the legs and disrupts the circulation of blood and lymph. So you all need to adopt some good habits.
For example:

• Limit salt and consume plenty of fruits and vegetables, which have diuretic and detoxifying properties and are also rich in antioxidants
• When resting, place your feet higher than the rest of your body (e.g. on a pillow)
• Do not sit for a long time standing or sitting for no reason and exercise daily (walking, jogging).
• Do not wear tight shoes and tight socks.
• Limit your exposure to the sun.

Don't forget the water
Scotch shower
Put your feet in the tub and pour hot and cold water alternately (alternation duration about 20 seconds) for 1-2 minutes on each foot. In this way, you "exercise" the vessels in the area, as they contract and expand, resulting in improved blood circulation.
Foot bath with salt
Add coarse salt to a basin of warm water and put your feet in. The warm water improves blood circulation and relaxes the muscles, while the salt helps reduce swelling.
Swim in the sea
The water gives a beneficial massage to the whole body and at the same time your body benefits from its beneficial ingredients (potassium, sodium).
Hydrotherapy
Take a cold shower (25 degrees Celsius) every day for 5 minutes on your feet
Get a massage
On the soles
Use a roller or ribbed bottle. Sit in a chair and gently roll back and forth for 2 minutes with each foot on the hard surface. Otherwise, you can use a tennis ball.
• “Work” the area with your thumbs or fists. Make intense circular movements for 3 minutes on each foot.
At the counter
Lightly massage the points between the tendons (grooves) on the sole of each foot in a circular motion for 2 minutes.
On the ankles
Massage for 1-2 minutes in circular motions on the side of the foot, starting from the base of the little toe and ending at the ankle.
Don't ignore the danger signs

See your doctor if:
• The swelling is painful, red and won't go away at all.
• Swelling is accompanied by shortness of breath and dizziness.
• Suddenly only one of your legs swells, it hurts and the swelling does not go away.

Aromatherapy
Foot bath

In a basin of warm water, add: 4-5 drops of lavender essential oil and 4 drops of tea-tree for relaxation and decongestion or 3 drops of rosemary, 2 drops of chamomile, 2 drops of lavender to stimulate blood circulation. Leave your feet in the water for 15 minutes.
Massage lotion

In 100 ml of almond oil, add 2 drops of sandalwood, 2 drops of lavender (stimulates muscles and blood circulation) and 1 drop of geranium. After taking a warm foot bath, use a small amount on each foot to massage in a circular motion from bottom to top.
