Green tea and weight loss
In recent years the investigations reveal that the Green tea can "wake up" the metabolic rate, increasing it by up to 3%.
Catechins, the main antioxidants of green tea, seem to be involved in the processes of thermogenesis and lipolysis.
Dietitians report that although the studies on the effect of green tea on weight loss are very promising, it seems that its effect on metabolism is small enough to be able to bring about a significant change in weight.
Studies that have shown a higher increase in metabolism mostly use green tea extract, a more concentrated form of its active ingredients.
However, including green tea in our diet can benefit our health in general.
