What images should you bring to mind in order to sleep soundly?
If you are one of those people who count sheep every night in order to fall asleep, you need to change your method.
Researchers from the University of Oxford argue that it is better to bring to mind the image of a beach or even a waterfall.
A researcher at this university asked 50 people with insomnia to use different techniques to fall asleep. Some were asked to resort to the well-known "method" of sheep, others to bring to mind an image of relaxation and calm, and the rest to use any method they wished.
The result was very impressive. Those who "saw" relaxing images fell asleep an average of 20 minutes earlier than the previous times they did not use this method. In contrast, people who counted sheep were significantly delayed in falling asleep.
Maybe you should start taking some research seriously from now on?
