Easter Cookies – It will spice up your house!
A recipe for deliciousness Easter cookies with an orange aroma that is worth making this year Easter!
Materials:
- 500 gr. cow butter
- 350 gr. sugar
- 2 kg. vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp powdered mastic
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 eggs + 2 yolks for the spread at the end
- 120 ml. fresh orange juice
- zest of 3 whole oranges
- zest of ½ lemon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1,300 gr. flour for all uses
- 10 gr. baking powder
Implementation:
Put the butter and sugar in the mixing bowl and beat for 5-6 minutes.
Once they foam well and become a cream, add the zest, vanilla, mastic and salt.
Add the eggs one by one. The mixture must "drink" them between additions.
Dissolve the soda in the orange juice and add them as well.
Lower the intensity of the mixer and add the flour and baking powder little by little, after first sifting them.
From the moment we add the flour, do not knead too much because they will harden.
If the dough is sticky enough, add a little more flour. It should be fluffy.
Cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees in the air.
Shape the cookies into whatever shape you want and beat the 2 egg yolks with 4 tablespoons of water in a bowl.
Using a brush we go over their surface and place them a short distance apart on a tray covered with non-stick paper.
Bake for 25 minutes, until their surface takes on color and then transfer to a rack to cool.
Extra Tip: All ingredients should be at room temperature.
