Diseases that reveal your nails

By observing your nails you can check up on your health.
See below some cases where your nails can betray a condition.

Dull nails: Very dull nails can sometimes be a sign of a serious illness such as: anemia, heart failure, liver disease and poor nutrition
The vertical stripes: You are deficient in vitamin B, which may be due to increased stress.
Also, lack of vitamin A can also cause this symptom.
The vertical lines: They are the lines that start from the free edge of the nail and go towards its root.
It could be the acetone
The frequent use of acetone dries the nails and is even likely to create vertical ridges on their surface.
Detergents and hot water may be to blame
You may have been injured
It is possible that the thyroid gland is malfunctioning
The yellow nails: The most common cause of yellow nails is fungal infection. Yellow nails can also be caused by more serious diseases such as thyroid disease, lung disease, diabetes and psoriasis, as well as if you paint them with bright colors or if you smoke.
The blue nails: Nails that have a blue-purple hue mean that the body is not getting enough oxygen.
Peeled nails: Peeling nails that are dry and brittle are associated with thyroid disease.
The green color:  Usual suspect a fungus or maybe a microbe to blame.
Wavy nails: Nails that are wavy or have orange peel marks can be an early symptom of psoriasis or an inflammatory arthritis.
Peeled nails: Peeling nails that are dry and brittle are associated with thyroid disease. Nail discoloration is also common.
The white spots: It is a very common problem and can occur in up to 50% of the population. For spotted leukonychia, the most common cause is micro-injuries to the nail matrix, such as from a manicure, or caused by repetitive rubbing movements of the nails with other fingers. Also, dermatological diseases, such as psoriasis, result in spotted white patches, as well as in some forms of fungal infections in the affected nail. In febrile infections but also in diabetes, whitish spots may appear on the nails.

Brittle nails: Dry nails that break or separate easily are most often associated with thyroid disease. If there is also a yellow color, it is probably a fungal infection.
Swollen skin around the nails: If the skin around the nails appears red and swollen, this is known as nail fold inflammation. Some infection can also cause redness and inflammation of the nail fold.
Dark lines under nails:  They are usually due to injury. If you don't remember hitting something to justify the black spots, you should see your dermatologist, as there is a possibility that it could even be malignant melanoma.
"Eat" nails: Many have the habit of biting their nails. But some cannot avoid it to the extent of mental compulsive neurosis. This case needs attention and a psychiatrist should be consulted.

Very important if you notice any change in the color or texture of the nail, contact your doctor.
