Melanoma: Which SPF in Sunscreen Reduces Risk by 80%?
Sun exposure without sunscreen significantly increases the risk of skin cancer, especially melanoma.
After reading the research below, I couldn't resist sharing it with you. According to this new study by researchers at Ohio State University, not all sunscreens provide the same protection against melanoma.
Based on clinical trials in laboratory animals, sunscreen with an SPF of 30 is associated with a significantly reduced risk of melanoma when applied before sun exposure.
Researchers tested various SPF 30 sunscreens and found that all were associated with a reduced incidence of melanoma and a significant delay in the onset of the disease. Systematic use of sunscreen with an index of 30 is estimated to reduce the risk of skin cancer by up to 80%.
The new research findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
Be sure to take care of yourself and have a safe place in the sun.
