Cinnamon: the ultimate ally for weight loss!

We don't say, well, superfoods, strange celebrity diets and strange "magic potions", but the truth is that ultimately the simplest and most accessible foods are the most miraculous and those that can make a difference, without much expense and unpleasantness taste. One of our favorites? THE  cinnamon!

Known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, cinnamon helps control blood glucose levels and slows stomach emptying. Foods that spike blood glucose levels, such as pasta and white bread, cause the body to produce enough insulin, which in turn causes blood glucose levels to plummet. This sharp drop creates a feeling of hunger again. However, according to a study published in the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology in 2010, eating cinnamon before any meal that can raise blood glucose levels helps stabilize glucose levels.

Similar conclusions were reached by the University of Michigan research, according to which cinnamon, thanks to the cinnamaldehyde oil it contains, can protect against obesity, since it activates the metabolic process that produces heat and burns calories. However, as the research was done on mice, its head, Jun Wu, argued that additional studies will be needed to confirm that the benefits of cinnamaldehyde do not hide disadvantages. Of course, he looks optimistic: "Cinnamon has been part of our diet for hundreds of years and people enjoy it. So if it can help protect against obesity, then it can provide a new approach to metabolic health and make it easier for patients."
