I'm in menopause, I watch my diet but the belly doesn't shrink! What to do;

Because of change in hormones during menopause it is very likely that the weight will change significantly but also that the basic metabolism will decrease (ie the calories you burn at rest).

For this reason it may be necessary reduce the portions you consume more but at the same time don't skip meals and nutrients from your diet.

Some general healthy eating guidelines that may help you to reduce swelling in the intestine are the following:

  • Do not eat more than 1 salad daily

  • Do not eat green vegetables for consecutive days
  • Any vegetable should be eaten with: meat, chicken, burgers, egg, yellow cheese, bread, croutons: never plain salad or with legumes or oil.
  • Don't eat vegetables that make you swell: lettuce, greens, onion, cabbage.
  • Do not eat legumes & oily for consecutive days.
  • Chew very well and eat slowly.
  • Eat the main meal first and then the vegetables
  • Do not eat unripe fruit and always remove the skin.
  • First you will eat your food and then drink liquids.
  • Never liquids on an empty stomach and not sudden intake.
  • Always accompany dairy products and juices with some starch (bread or toast or crackers).
  • Do not consume soft drinks and carbonated drinks.
  • Legumes and oilseeds are best boiled very well until they melt - melt them so that their skin is not visible and always accompany them with cheese and bread.
  • Avoid nuts or eat them grated.
  • Prefer lactose-free milk.
  • Watch out for sours, and lemon.
  • Prefer gluten-free pastries & pasta.
