Strong memory until old age: The habit you must adopt!
It's nice to grow up with memories, to reminisce about things you've experienced in the past, good times but also difficult ones. It's just as nice to remember where you left your keys, which loved one's birthday is today, who told you, what and such everyday.
THE strong memory is not a self-evident situation at all, the mind it needs sharpening and indeed, the passage of time can burden it.
According to a study published a few days ago in the American Review of Neurology, there is a habit that increases the strength and limits of memory as we grow older. I open a parenthesis to remind you that proper nutrition and mental exercise, such as reading and solving sudoku are 2 factors that help the goal we are talking about. The research points to another key habit for strengthening memory, which is none other than physical exercise. The more we move, the more we strengthen its stability.
The researchers measured the physical activity levels of 454 people who had died within the last 2 years. 191 had been diagnosed with dementia and 263 had not. Based on the examination of their brain tissues, those who were more physically active had somehow protected their minds as well. Specifically, they had "better thinking and memory abilities well into old age, compared to those who moved little or not at all," reports the lead researcher, adding that a correlation was also found between motor skills and coordination with clarity of thought and memory. "Physical exercise is an inexpensive way to improve our health, physically as well as mentally."
And if you are currently wondering which sport or exercise you should start, let me remind you - once again - that even 30 minutes of walking a day is enough to benefit from the beneficial properties of physical activity. It is already confirmed that gentle exercise improves mood, increases creativity, contributes to weight loss, reduces the development of chronic diseases, facilitates digestion and according to new data, helps to make everything memorable.
