Detox Now: What Foods Help Liver Detox
The liver is undoubtedly one of the most important organs in our body, since it is responsible for cleaning and refining all of harmful substances from foods and never that pass into the blood. It is the organ that "imprisons" toxins and protects all other organs.
So our liver needs a good one detoxification.
What to eat:
- Olive oil: It helps the body by providing a base of lipids that can absorb harmful toxins in the body. In this way, it takes some of the burden off the liver's function in relation to toxic overload.
- Garlic: Even a small amount is enough to activate those liver enzymes that help remove toxins. It also contains significant amounts of allicin and selenium, which are two natural ingredients that aid in detoxification.
- Grapefruit: It has a high content of vitamin C and antioxidants. A glass of fresh grapefruit juice (especially in the morning) is enough to increase the production of detoxifying enzymes and remove carcinogens and other toxins from the liver.
- Green tea: It is full of antioxidants such as catechins, an ingredient known to contribute to better liver function.
- Avocado: Summer is the best time for good quality avocados. It is a fruit that helps the body produce glutathione, a chemical compound that is essential for the liver's self-detoxification process.
