UTI: By drinking this juice you will... save it
The ultimate summer nightmare for all women has a name and is called urinary tract infection.
Bathing in the sea and in the pool and our exposure to micro-organisms as we stay for hours in our wet bathing suits often lead us to the doctor with severe symptoms from itching in the genitals and frequent urination, to pain when urinating, pain in the lower abdomen, hematuria and more.
Antibiotics are considered necessary in any case. Scientific research, however, has come to the conclusion that there is a way to shield our body in order to prevent the appearance of such painful symptoms.
The secret lies in a delicious juice.
Cranberry juice!
Cranberry juice has been proven to help prevent urinary tract infections, with the latest relevant research published in the "ACS Journal of Natural Products" attributing its action to the oligosaccharides it contains.
As the researchers analyze, the components of this – admittedly very tasty – juice prevent the bacteria dangerous for the occurrence of urinary tract infections from adhering to the cell wall of the urinary system, thus keeping it clean.
Doctors, however, emphasize the importance of drinking a lot of water, healthy liquids (natural juices, green tea) and yogurt, elements that contribute to the proper functioning of the urinary system.
Of course, systematic care of the genital area is also considered necessary, especially during the summer months when we are exposed to a multitude of microbes.
